dbMHC

dbMHC provides access to HLA sequences, tools to support genetic testing of HLA loci, HLA allele and haplotype frequencies of over 90 populations worldwide, as well as clinical datasets on nematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and insulin dependant diabetes mellitus (IDDM), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Narcolepsy and Spondyloarthropathy. The database is available at http://www.ncbi.nih.gov/mhc. Release of allele sequences is synchronized with the IMGT-HLA database/WHO allele nomenclature committee. The tools consists of an interactive alignment viewer, interactive download facility with customized output formatting, haploid and diploid sequence analysis, sequence specific primer and sequences specific oligonucleotide annealing prediction, listing of microsatellites of the HLA region, and a graphical switchboard for HLA related contents within NCBI. The Anthropology/genetic diversity set provides HLA frequency and the HLA allele typings of over 12,000 individuals. Data can be downloaded as individual typings, as allele or haplotype frequencies. All clinical datasets housed at the dbMHC provide access to genotypic and phenotypic data on anonimyzed samples with aggregate query functions, and complete download capability. The hematopoietic stem cell dataset provides an online calculation of Kaplan Meier survival plots for user defined transplantation groups. Disease clinical datasets (IDDM, RA) provide extensive query and download functions for case/control data and/or family data.
